Quaker Valley Council of Governments seeks a qualified Executive Director to lead the organization in all aspects of management and program delivery.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the key leadership position works with 15 municipalities, as well as state and county officials, to establish regional priorities, identify efficiencies, and meet the needs of citizens and businesses, and civic organizations. With a population just under 35,000, the Quaker Valley COG serves an uninterrupted line of communities along the northeast shore of the Ohio River from the City of Pittsburgh to the Beaver County line. Our abundant geographic and economic advantages are exceeded only by our strong neighborhoods, social connections and the camaraderie of our municipal officials. The strategic significance of the QVCOG geography has always been evident in our transporation. Rails, roads, streetcars, buses...all have played a role, and impacted, our development. Aligned with the Rt 65 Corridor Study , the LINC Study brings the Remaking Cities Institute at Carnegie Mellon to our communities again, this time looking at how our communities are linked. LINC, stands for Linking our Networked Communities and is research and strategies development for local mobility. How do we address critical needs for local/intra-community trips?
With a focus on Bellevue, Avalon, Ben Avon, Emsworth and Kilbuck, the study will work with local leaders to make recommendations for improving mobility within these communities. Among the items being explored
All elected officials and staff of member municipalities are invited to an online information session on February 27, 2021 at 9 AM that will explain the results of the solid waste survey and the progress of the solid waste specifications drafting committee. This event will explain the priorities revealed in the engagement process, the options for the specifications, requirements to participate and timeline. Preregistration is required.

Quaker Valley Council of Governments is happy to welcome the return of Sewickley Borough to the Quaker Valley Council of Governments (QVCOG). A unanimous vote by the QVCOG Board of Directors to accept Sewickley's application for membership occured at the January 20, 2021 Board meeting.
A network of 15 municipalities that lines the northern shore of the Ohio River from the City of Pittsburgh line to the Allegheny County line, the QVCOG is a non-profit organization that facilitates multi-municipal efforts and implements efficient, cost-effective programs on behalf of its members.
