Keynote Speaker Jennifer Liptak, Chief of Staff, Office of Allegheny County Executive was followed by remarks from DCED Deputy Secretary Rick Villelo, and QVCOG President Jean-Sebastien Valois. The next round of evaluations for the Municipal Solar Initiative are being scheduled and municipalities, authorities and school districts completing the survey by October 17, 2018 are eligible for inclusion. For Duquesne Light Customers, usage information may be provided through the completion and return of the Release for Account Information to Quaker Valley COG, alleviating the task of providing electric bills. Part of the work of 2018 included building the help system for QVCOG-wide GIS. As part of the Technical Assistance Program, subscribers have access to jointly-purchased professional expertise through an online help system. Technical support policies are available here.
To obtain help using QVCOG-wide GIS, subscriber are provided logins to the custom online help documents and help request system (in addition to general ESRI ArcGIS support available to subscribers). To enroll on QVCOG-wide GIS and optional technical assistance, or for more inforamtion, contact Susan Hockenberry. QVCOG has submitted $1,493,249 in requests for funding for projects in the Quaker Valley Council of Governments area.
Community Development Block Grant applications on behalf of seven municipalities were submitted to Allegheny County Department of Economic Development. Included in the 22 projects were sewer/water improvements; park and playground equipment; sidewalks, streets and alleys; and the demolition of blighted buildings. QVCOG member municipalities worked diligently with the QVCOG to identify potential projects on behalf of their communities. We will be informed later in the Fall as to which projects may move forward in the funding process. The 2019 Proposed Budget is available. QVCOG Board of Delegates will set dues on September 19, 2018 and adopt the budget on October 24, 2018.

Guests will socialize and network at the Hospitality Hour preceding dinner, at 6 PM. An Event Program presenting the line-up for the evening, information about each member municipality, QVCOG programs and advertisements will serve to commemorate the event.
